The apple store had a contest to give who ever had the 25 billionth app 10 thousand dollar gift card.  My goal was to find out when to start downloading apps to try to win the prize.  http://threeacts.mrmeyer.com/25billionapps/ . To start off I found out how many downloads there are per minute. I did that by taking 6:27, 6:28, 6:29 and 6:30.  I took their number of downloads and I subtracted 6:28 from 6:27. I subtracted 6:29 from 6:28 and I subtracted 6:30 from 6:29.  I took  the three numbers I got and I added them up and divided them by 3.  That gave me 34211 which is one minuet. I took the one minuet number and I multiplied it by 60 and got 2052660 which is one hour. I took the one hour and I multiplied it by 24 and i got 49215840 which is one day. Then I took the number of downloads from 6:27 and I subtracted it from 25 billion and I got 341492345. I took that number and I divided it by the downloads in a day. That gave me 6.9 and that’s the number of days till the contest is over. That means the contest will be over march 2nd at 9:00 pm.

This year in math I have learned a few things so far. For example, I can add and subtract negative numbers. At the beginning of the year I wasn’t very good at it but I practiced and got better. I can multiply and divide negative numbers because it is the same thing as multiplication and division you just need to know the rules. The rules are if there are two negatives its a positive if there is one negative and one positive its a negative so its easy. I can combine like terms and combine like terms using distributive property. Combing like terms were not that hard but with distribution it was really hard. I used hints and kept practicing on khan academy and I eventually caught on.  I can also simplify expressions using exponents. I have known how to do that for a while. I think that I deserve an A in this class. I think that I deserve an A because I always do my work and when my friends are confused I help them out. I try my best always because I like to get better grades on the tests and I like to get more points on khan academy to unlock other avatars. If i mess up or miss a few questions on khan academy I don’t get frustrated or mad I just keep trying. If I don’t understand something I ask the teacher or Abby for help. That is why I believe that I am A worthy.
